Claudia received bachelors’ degrees from Kent State University (Geology) and Utah State University (Secondary Education), a Master’s degree from Weber State University (Secondary Education), and was a Ph.D. student at the University of Georgia (Reading Education) during the last three years of her life. She met Becky at Utah State University in 1990 and shared a loving partnership with her for nearly 17 years. Claudia loved living in Utah and had a passion for the mountains, desert, and forest, particularly the Dixie National Forest and Escalante, UT where she worked for many years with the U.S. Forest Service. She taught chemistry and physics at Bear River High School (Garland, UT) for ten years and achieved her goal to make a positive difference in the lives of many high school students. She lived a life of adventure and managed to visit all fifty states in the U.S. She made friends everywhere she went and will be missed by all. Becky and the Mazaros family would like to thank the Hospice of the Cleveland Clinic, Embracing Hospice in Snellville, GA, and the entire staff of the Suburban Hematology and Oncology Center in Lawrenceville, GA for all the care they gave to Claudia. Becky would like to extend her gratitude to the friends and family members who assisted in Claudia’s care during the last year, specifically Hristina Keranova, Tammy Ryan, Dan and Jill Rankin, Peg Meckling and Cindy Baker, Glen and Linda Mazaros, Jodie and Jerry Scott, and all the other Mazaros family members.
